COVID-19: Nine more COVID-19 deaths, 577 new cases

The Ministry of Health has reported that nine people have succumbed to COVID-19, 577 caught the virus out of 7 456 sample tests while 517 recovered.
The deceased include six women and three men from Kigali city, Musanze, Karongi and Kamonyi districts.
The statement released last night shows that majority of new cases were found in Kigali: 186, Muhanga: 41, Rubavu: 40 and Kamonyi: 30.
Rwanda confirmed the first Coronavirus case on 14th March 2020. Since then, 48 244 people have been tested positive of whom 32 523 recovered, 15 161 are active cases, 64 are critically ill while 560 have succumbed to the virus.
A total of 395,083 people have been vaccinated since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation programme on 5th March 2021.
Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
